Thursday, February 26, 2009 Okae... My house is typically slowly getting back to normal. My CPU is finally up and working since yest. To think that 1 month not using my desktop at home... -.-'' The only thing lacking would be a bit of the furnishings and also unpacking work. Exams are coming soon, 3 papers consisting of QMIM, OB and also FOA. GOnna mug really hard for them. Work is as usual as it is, plenty of rubbish from the boss. Finding it hard to work with such kind of people. Else, there is basically nothing for me to work on in the office except doing up design work and also catalogues. Will be back in time to update more. aRcHeMisT posted at 10:06 PM.
Monday, February 9, 2009 I didn't manage to blog for the past few weeks. My house is in havoc. For those who didn't know, it got burnt. -.-'' Thanks to the unit directly under mine. So recently, its more of a clearing up chore since Day 3 of CNY. Master bedroom, the master bedroom toilet, storeroom and my room was badly smoked (a lot of things inside was melted/cracked). The kitchen and living room was full of smoke particles. =/ Some of my daily routine was affected but things are getting back to normal.... During this period, I had slept outside my house along the corridor for 2 days? Then sleep in kitchen amongst all the packed stuff without any bedding. =/ Part of the household electricity was cut off as majority of the main wires running in the house ran through the master bedroom. Sure people will ask did my mum bought any fire protection insurance scheme? The sad answer is no. Reason is because my mum's housing loan is almost up and to be precise she thought that the Home Protection Scheme is the insurance itself. (HDB made it compulsory for houses purchased from 1994 onwards) So guys, do check up with HDB. If not, do buy but then please read through the policies as some insurance policies only insured the basic home repainting and wiring thats it, nth more from it. The case was reported to Town Council and HDB but no actual actions was taken after 1 week even when my mum and uncle went to see the MP. All they could say was... "we are only helping you, there are no obligations". So the implications is... my neighbour's house on fire, mine got affected, the aftermath you settle yourself; engage a lawyer and sue the neighbour and make claims as a third party (got money already do that, what for find town council/HDB for assistance?) -.-'' No choice had to send an email to our PM who is also part of the GRC... then, all the "we are only helping you comments" changed to "sorry". And they help fixing the basic interior of the house. Moral of the story... 1. government boards play taichi and are very ignorant about the people. 2. remember to buy insurance and also... don't really trust the government as when something big happens, they are very very slow in their efficiency to deal with the situation. (All 12 units in the same column got affected) - it took them 1 week odd to really start cleaning up the place. haiz... warzone at home. aRcHeMisT posted at 12:27 PM.
